The project is an addition and reimagining of the existing Fantail Dining Student Lounge adjacent to the Companies 1-6 Cadet housing and the Mess Deck main dining facility. The study analyzed both a one and story scheme for additional cadet dining capacity, student social space and the ability to be utilized as function space with views of the Cape Cod Canal. The design team has explored specialty menu concepts and student lounge enhancements not currently offered on campus based on feedback from cadet focus groups. New restrooms will be constructed for the 200 new dining seats. Outdoor spaces will include a patio and landscaped area of roughly 4000 SF. The current plan anticipates a 10 to 12 month construction schedule starting in March of 2022 and completing in January of 2023.
