Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be conducted by the Massachusetts State College Building Authority (the “Authority”) on November 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the offices of the Authority located at 253 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02210, regarding the proposal of the Authority to:
(1) refinance a portion of the construction of an approximately 146,000-square foot public educational facility, owned by the Authority and located at 578 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA, at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, used primarily for student housing, including through the lease of a portion of the facility to the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The residence hall contains approximately 493 beds and other facilities typically located in student residence halls, including laundry, lounge, mailroom, etc.
(2) authorize the refinancing of such costs through the issuance by the Authority, acting under and pursuant to Chapter 703 of the Acts of 1963 of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as amended, of bonds in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $85,000,000, which bonds will not constitute a debt or pledge of the faith and credit of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Interested persons wishing to express their views on such project and the proposed issuance of revenue bonds to refinance the project will be given the opportunity to do so at the public hearing or may, prior to the time of the public hearing, submit their views in writing to the Authority at 253 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02210.
