The project is the design and replacement of the fan coil units in student rooms of Stonehouse Hall. Alternatives were studied, including replacement with valance units but unit sizing and space limitations preclude a newer technology. Replacement of the units in kind will require enlargement of the existing equipment footprint for proper pipe insulation. Due to the varying room configurations and piping arrangements, the design team has recommended an initial project limited to 12 stacked rooms on four floors for the summer of 2021. This approach will inform the team how best to proceed with a possible full building renovation next year.
